In the first quarter of 2024, the virtual pet category has seen varied performance across popular apps on the Android platform in Australia. Data from Sensor Tower offers insights into how these apps fared in terms of downloads, revenue, and weekly active users.

My Talking Tom 2, published by Outfit7 Limited, showed a noteworthy trend with downloads peaking at 2.7M in early January and dipping to 1.7M by early March. Revenue had a high point of $139K mid-February, while weekly active users fluctuated around the 80K mark, reaching up to 86K in late January.

Dramaton's Bruno - My Super Slime Pet presented an interesting pattern, with downloads spiking to 3.1M in late January and then gradually decreasing to 1.6M towards the end of March. The revenue for this app showed some inconsistency, with a notable drop to $0 in mid-January but recovering to $48K by mid-March. Weekly active users experienced a steady growth, starting at around 11K and climbing to nearly 14K by the quarter's end.

Another app from Outfit7 Limited, My Talking Angela 2, experienced a steady download count starting at 2.6M and ending the quarter with over 2M. Revenue saw an initial high of $101K in early January, followed by a dip to $21K in mid-February, but then moderately increased to $39K by late March. Weekly active users saw a decline from 20.9K to 17.8K over the quarter.

My Talking Tom Friends also showed a similar trajectory in downloads and revenue, kicking off the year with 1.9M downloads and $184K in revenue, then experiencing a slight decrease to 1.8M downloads and $187K in revenue by the end of March. Weekly active users hovered around the 38K mark, peaking at nearly 40K in late January.

Lastly, ABI Game Studio's Cat Choices: Virtual Pet 3D saw its downloads peak at 1.5M in late January, followed by a decline to 621K by the end of March. As the revenue for this app remained at $0 throughout the quarter, the focus was on active users, which started at 1.5K and experienced a drop to 1K, showing a downward trend in engagement.
